Without the shadow of a doubt, Tarraco was Romes gateway to the Iberian Peninsula and a crucial city for understanding the historical and ideological evolution of our classical past. Even today, the modern city of Tarragona is a fount of knowledge that constantly provides new information and raises new scholarly questions. This document offers an overview of the current state of research, stressing the new discoveries and reflecting the opportunities afforded by the new technologies to shape a new body of archaeological research that spans humanistic knowledge and analytical experimentation.
